A Place for Sanctuary
Harmony Acres offers a lifelong commitment to every animal that calls our center home. Caring staff and volunteers ensure that each animal's needs are fully met, including dietary, enrichment, exercise, and sociability. When the animals are fully loved and cared for, we find they are eager to give back what they have received through programs benefiting others. You can support an animal for as little as $5 a month, and become part of a full circle of healing: which goes first to the animal, and then to the healing they participate in on a daily basis.
Join our Circle of Healing as an animal sponsor and become an integral part of all of our healing activity. Your crucial support goes first to the animal, then to all of their healing work, helping them offer over 1600 hours of therapy services this year to children, Veterans, and those most in need in our community.

SMALL ANIMAL AND SPECIAL NEEDS SANCTUARY RESIDENTS:
One thing that we have realized over the course of our development, is that we have a special talent for providing care to those most in need. It is our joy to be able to offer care to these older residents or special needs animals who give back to our facility in ways that are undefinable. Some of these residents participate in Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy sessions; while others are here to soak up the love and care they need to support their own lives. Sponsor one of the special residents and help Harmony Acres provide them with perfect care for the duration of their lives.

Maylay was at a kill lot and rescued prior to being sent to slaughter. Her extreme negative experience with humans had a very large impact on her trust of people; but with time, love and patience, she is feeling safe at the sanctuary. Her experiences resonate with many of our therapy clients, who are drawn to her depth of spirit.

Casper is our facility baby as we met him when he was just a year old! Unfortunately he developed juvenile arthritis and receives a lot of extra care and supplements to stay happy and comfortable. He still keeps us laughing with his games and antics!

We received our first alpacas soon after starting Harmony Acres, and were so enamored by their intelligence and unique personality that we can't imagine our sanctuary without a few of these special animals. Isla is the gentle and sweet one, Marshmallow is the one with personality plus, and Stormy has a dark side, still overcoming her fear of people.
