Wanted: Serious 4-Legged Therapists--Seriously!

We have two positions open for new Equine team members to join our agency! Please read the requirements below to see if a horse you are thinking of might be a good fit. The perfect candidate must be:
-Sound at both the walk and the trot with no major lameneses
-Between the ages of 8-18 years old
-Large enough to carry an adult rider
-Solid experience of carrying a rider with no major vices (bucking, bolting); *or* we may consider a horse in the 8-13 year old age range who still needs a bit more experience but is started with a good personality and calm mind.
Some qualities that we are looking for in our next equine partner:
-Enjoys interacting with people
-Friendly/curious
-Calm/Well-mannered in a variety of settings
-Safe with other people and animals

Options for joining our team:
-We may be able to pay a reasonable fee for the right horse. Please understand this may not be a competitive market rate
-We can accept your horse as a donation, and you can use the horse's full monetary value towards a tax write-off
-We may accept a horse on lease in the right situation with you retaining ownership

Our Sanctuary is a life long home to approximately 40 animals, who give back to hurting people through professionally-facilitated Animal-Assisted Therapy Services
Provide Healing to Our Community
We provide services for those most at risk in our community: individuals who have experienced trauma, abuse, or hardship; military veterans; individuals with disabilities. 85% of our program participants have a high financial need.
Support Animal Owners In Need
Our Community Outreach efforts assist individuals struggling with a temporary hardship, so animals can stay out of the slaughter pipeline and in long-term homes where they are loved and valued.
